Flour Babies Come to Harris Academy Bermondsey
We would like to welcome our Year 9 Flour Babies to Harris Academy Bermondsey. The project is based upon the novel by Anne Fine, Flour Babies.
It is a project that is replicated worldwide in social development, early childhood studies, and human behaviour classes, where students are exposed to the “roles and responsibilities of parents, with respect to raising children, including the characteristics of successful parenting.” (Statutory guidance for RSE 2020)
“I don’t want to give my baby back on Thursday because it’s so cute. This project has made me feel that when I get older I might be a good parent because of the way I took care of it.” Adidrea, Year 9 (below right)
“I crochet my babies outfit and it is a copy of a Harry Styles outfit from One Direction. I am enjoying looking after the baby because it is fun and it's important because we need to learn to look after our own things.” Leila, Year 9 (below right)
