Lancôme Hosts Business And Literacy Immersion Day
The next activity in our partnership with Lancôme and the National Literacy Trust was a literacy and business immersion day at Lancôme HQ in Hammersmith last month.
Three lucky sixth formers attended the event at which they engaged with female leaders and explored the language and literacy skills required for success in the workplace. During the day, students attended a host of fabulous activities:
- Seminars from leading executives at Lancôme
- A guided tour around the offices
- An exceptional spoken word workshop, hosted by Sophia Thakur
The students also received a copy of Sophia Thakur’s inspirational book, Somebody Give This Heart a Pen.
What HAB students said...
"This is the first time I’ve been to an office and it was great to see how literacy is incorporated into the world of work. I really enjoyed the poetry workshop with Sophie Thakur." Aisha, Year 13
"I’ve learnt that every department of economic enterprise has a strong focus on literacy. I really enjoyed speed networking. It was great to hear individual stories and learn about how people got into their careers." Nour, Year 13
