HAB Hosts First Internal Model United Nations Conference
Our first HAB Internal Model United Nations took place this week, with students debating on the topic of the expansion of NATO.
Model United Nations brings together students from around the world to simulate real UN committees and discussions. HAB has taken part in several MUNs in other venues but this is the first internal one, designed to give our younger students the opportunity to engage with worldwide topics.
Students from Years 7 to 11 represented different countries, presented their resolutions, debated and voted for and against amendments and resolutions as part of the Disarmament and International Security Committee.
Students received their certificate of participation, but also the top delegates were awarded by the end of the conference.
Best Delegate awards:
- Delegate of India - Zara Sachedina, Year 8
- Delegate of Georgia - Georgina Newborn, Year 8
- Delegate of Sweden - Hawah Tijani-Amin, Year 10
Outstanding Delegate Awards:
- Delegate of Russia: Noor Bellalem, Year 10
- Delegate of USA: Hafsa Abdullahi, Year 11
