Eight Theatre Trips Already This Year - Read More
We have already had eight trips to the theatre in 2023, taking students from across Year 7 to Year 13 as part of our aim to take advantage of every theatrical opportunity we can.
We have seen Shakespeare on the Globe stage, outstanding musicals such as Mandela at the Young Vic, &Juliet at the Shaftesbury Theatre, Standing at the Sky’s Edge and Hex at the National Theatre as well as some intense Greek tragedy in Phaedra, also at the National Theatre.
"Every student who chooses to study GCSE Drama will be taken on a number of trips across the course to expose them to as much theatre as possible to inspire their own creativity as well as allow them to write up a Live Theatre Evaluation," said Ms Harvey. This year, students in Year 10 went to see To Kill A Mockingbird and Year 11 saw a production of their set text, The Crucible, at the National Theatre.
Seeing the students watch so much theatre has been absolutely incredible. As a school we try to ensure these opportunities are affordable and the majority of the tickets for the above productions were £5-10, taking advantage of the schools rates available if you apply for tickets early.
