HAB6 Students Discover Apprenticeship Opportunities with Ofcom
On Wednesday, 13th November, Year 13 students at HAB6 were given a unique opportunity to explore apprenticeship programmes with Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator.
The workshop, led by Patrick Philpott and supported by ambassadors Jessica Marcus and Liberty Perry, provided an insightful introduction to the career pathways available through Ofcom’s London-based apprenticeships. The session was engaging and interactive, combining presentations with small group discussions to showcase the benefits of apprenticeships as an alternative to university. The ambassadors shared personal stories, helping students envision how an apprenticeship could be a stepping stone to a successful career in a fast-paced industry.
The visiting team was highly impressed with the HAB6 students, describing them as “engaged, respectful, and a pleasure to speak with.” The event’s success reflects the collaborative effort between Ofcom and HAB6 to ensure students gain access to meaningful opportunities that combine earning with learning.
As part of its commitment to supporting young people from diverse backgrounds, Ofcom hopes to return to HAB6 in the future with more opportunities for students to explore.
HAB6 continues to prioritise partnerships with leading organisations like Ofcom to inspire and empower students, ensuring they are well-equipped to succeed in their chosen career paths. This workshop is another step in preparing the next generation of talent for thriving futures.
