Model United Nations - HAB Delegates Attend London Conference
Well done to our HAB Model United Nations Year 12 delegates (Amina, Najma, Kandia, Wiam, Michelle and Lilo - pictured below) for attending the YouthMUN, London conference last weekend.
The Model United Nations conference focused on several global issues for which the girls represented different countries - debating and finalising a resolution paper for each Model United Nations committee. Students were part of the Human Rights Committee, the World Health Organisation and the Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Issues Committee.
We are really proud that HAB has been recognised for its ethos and respect throughout the conference. The chairs were very impressed with our students and the following girls were distinguished:
Najma won the "Outstanding Delegate" Award, ranking second in the Human Rights Committee which focused on the international standardisation of comprehensive sexuality education and on tackling the global criminalisation of homosexuality
and
Amina won the "Honourable Commendation" Award ranking third in the World Health Organisation Committee which focused on the global mental health awareness and on addressing healthcare inaccessibility for migrants and refugees.
We are looking forward to finding out about their participation in the NTUMUN conference this week in Singapore.
