HAB Gardening Club Sprouts! Join Our Garden Party, Friday 13th May
After the Easter break we held our first lunch time gardening club in the Wellbeing Garden for pupils in Years 7 to 10.
The students bring a packed lunch or grab a sandwich from the restaurant so they can have their food in the beautiful setting and then it’s time to work!
The recent weather has been perfect for plants and of course weeds. A bit of friendly competition between year groups and the weeds didn’t stand a chance with the Year 9 gardeners consistently bringing home the weeding trophy (see the evidence below!).
We now have an area ready to plant shrubs kindly donated by The Woodland Trust. Over the coming weeks the gardening club will be growing sunflower seedlings, taking rosemary cuttings and planting carrot seeds.
Next Garden Party, Friday 13th May, 2-6pm
In addition, on the 13th May we will have our next Garden Party – a chance for parents and carers to support the wellbeing garden and get stuck in. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to get stuck in – just like our girls. If you would like to register please sign up HERE.
Very best wishes for a wonderful summer term and we look forward to seeing you on the 13th of May.
