African Storytelling Workshop With The Cowfoot Prince

Spoken word artist Usifu Jalloh (known as Cowfoot Prince) gave a charismatic and energetic African storytelling workshop to Harris Academy Bermondsey students recently.

Students came along not knowing what to expect but they were captivated as Cowfoot Prince travelled the globe through storytelling to see the influence and impact Africa has had on different cultures, countries and communities around the world.

There were loads of smiles, as well as dancing and singing. “The workshop dispelled myths about Africa and helped the girls to reframe history’s narrative,” said Ms Morris.

“I really enjoyed learning new things about Africa instead of repeating the same American history for Black History Month.”

“I had a great time. The Cowfoot Prince was really energetic and fun to watch.”

“I really want my friends to see The Cowfoot Prince so they can learn more about Africa too!”
