The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie at St. Martin's Theatre
On Thursday, February 22nd, a group of 40 adventurous Year 8 students eagerly made their way to St. Martin's Theatre for a spellbinding theatrical experience: Agatha Christie's legendary masterpiece, "The Mousetrap."
"The Mousetrap" isn't just any old show—it holds the prestigious title of being the longest-running show in the entire world. For over 70 years, audiences have been kept on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting the big reveal at the end of this captivating whodunnit. And guess what? Our very own HAB staff and students are now in on the big secret!
From the moment the curtains rose, our students were completely entranced. They were drawn into a world of suspense and suspicion, eagerly trying to unravel the mystery taking place on the stage.
During the intermission, whispers of excitement filled the air as students discussed their theories about the identity of the murderer. Our students became detectives as they dissected clues and shared hunches whilst eagerly awaiting the climactic conclusion.
As the final reveal unfolded before their eyes, gasps of astonishment echoed throughout the theatre.
Some students were left wide-eyed in shock, while others nodded knowingly, proud to have cracked the case.
Inspired by their thrilling theatrical experience, our students are now armed with a newfound understanding of the conventions of a great mystery story. Using this knowledge, they're going to put their detective skills to the test by writing their own mystery stories as part of the Young Mystery Writers project. Get ready to be blown away by their creativity and ingenuity as they craft their very own mysterious tales.
