Jack Petchey's Speak Out Challenge, managed by Speakers Trust and supported by the Jack Petchey Foundation, aims to amplify young voices by building confidence and developing communication skills. The programme provides free communication skills training to Year 10 students in every state school across London and Essex, empowering over 30,000 young people annually.
Eloise's speech, titled "What do you want to be when you grow up?", encouraged peers to embrace the uncertainty of the future by focusing on hard work and remaining open to life's surprises. Eloise expressed her enthusiasm for the competition, stating, "I am so happy to partake in this competition and being able to spread my voice."
A huge congratulations is also in order for Hind from Year 10, a regional finalist runner-up, with a speech titled “The Thief of Time”.
We are incredibly proud of both girls for their excellent speeches!
In Southwark, a total of 852 young people participated in the challenge, highlighting the programme's significant impact on the community. More information about the initiative can be found at
